The Promises of God

Very simply put, God never lies; Therefore, everything God says is guaranteed.  It's a "promise" -  that you can count on!

Knowing this truth, as well as, how much God loves us, gives us an eternal hope!  This hope becomes an anchor to our soul in this ever changing world!

God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?  Numbers 23:19 (KJV)

My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.  Psalm 89:34 (KJV)

For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. Psalm 119:89 (KJV)

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)

Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.                1 Kings 8:56 (KJV)

The whole premise of our relationship with God is FAITH.  We are saved by faith, we live by faith, we walk by faith. Without faith, the Bibles says, one cannot please God. (Hebrews 11:6)

The whole basis of faith is trusting that, what God has said, that, He will surely do!

Without His word there is not faith!  If His word is not a promise, settled once and for all, then no one could ever trust in it!

No matter what it looks like, no matter what it feels like, what God says He will do, that, He will do!

In fact, God fully expects us to keep on believing, even when there is no outward evidence to prove His word true.  He gave us His word on it, and that's His Promise!

Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. Hebrews 11:11 (KJV)

He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform
. Romans 4:20-21 (KJV)

Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, Romans 4:16 (KJV)

The greatness of all this is, that through Christ Jesus, all of God's promises belong to us.  They are spoken over our lives. They are for us to trust in, to pray for, and to receive!

For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God. 2 Corinthians 1:20 (NIV)

Whatever God has promised gets stamped with the Yes of Jesus. In him, this is what we preach and   pray, the great Amen, God's Yes and our Yes together, gloriously evident. 2 Corinthians 1:20 (MSG)
